Kamuzu International Airport is Malawi's main international airport, located about 13 miles North of Lilongwe. It handles flights to/from South Africa, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Most travellers from Europe change in South Africa, Kenya or Ethiopia.
The airport is fairly small by international standards, handling around 250,000 passengers per year.

There is one terminal and it is easy to find your way around. There is a cafe, money changer, post office, car rental, gift shops and tourist centre available on the main concourse.

For foreigners leaving Malawi, there is a departure tax of $30 (which must be paid as 30 US Dollars cash).
[edit] Getting to Lilongwe
There is a fairly regular bus service from Lilongwe International Airport to the city of Lilongwe. Taxis and Car Rentals are usually available from the airport. Some of the larger hotels have transfers from the airport directly to the hotel.
