Malawi

Malawi is a landlocked country in Southern Africa, known as "The Warm Heart of Africa" due to the friendliness of its people. One fifth of the country is made up of Lake Malawi (the third largest lake in Africa) famous for its multitude of fish and bird life. Malawi has over six hundred bird species including the Fish Eagle. Lake Malawi flows into the Shire River which joins the Zambezi further downstream in Mozambique.

In 1974, Malawi's capital moved from Zomba (the old colonial capital) to Lilongwe in Central Malawi. However, the commercial capital is Malawi's largest city, Blantyre. There are regular flights to Kamuzu International Airport from South Africa, Kenya, Mozambique, Dubai, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia and the United Kingdom.
